Yorkie Poo

poop symptoms

I just recently purchased a Yorkiepoo from a local pet store. He last stool was water with redness. Should I wait it out a day to see if it goes back to normal or take him to the vet. I have had him for about 3weeks now. Is this a bad sign?

Answers

Yes, if your dog has redness in their stool take them to a vet immediately. This could signal internal bleeding. Take care.

Cavachon

Why is my Cavachon having problems with his hind leg ?

We have a 6mth old puppy,he started going lame in his back left leg to the point he has been unable to put weight on it. He has been on a course of medication which has helped him to the point that he bares slight weight upon it. He is due to have X-rays taken and we are very concerned . Does anyone know of a Cavachon with similar symptons ??? Before Henry became lame, he would run using both hind legs together, rabbit fashion ( hopping ) he also does this when going up and down stairs. Is this how your Cavachon runs ? he also does not like jumping up on chairs /sofas etc ANY HELP / COMMENTS WOULD BE WELCOLMED

  1. Hello..I am not sure when this was written, but take your puppy for an mri. My poor Ted did the same thing and I never found a congenital back problem which could have been fixed with medicine and unfortunately we had to put him down because he became paralyzed over a weekend. So sad…I hope I can help one person from going through this heartache! Thanks!
  2. I don’t have an answer, but my 10-month-old Cavachon also has trouble with his right hind leg (hip seemingly going out of joint and then back in. He limps for about 30 seconds or so, and then seems to be okay. But it seems to be happening more often rather than getting better. I’m worried too. I’d like to know what to expect. Hopefully he will grow out of the problem.

Dachshund

Rectal Stricture

am currently put into a position that I can’t get myself to come to grips with, My Buddy is a 9 year old mini dachshund who is the love of our life. He has over the past 2 years been having problems with his anal sack glands (had one removed in july 2015) and it has gotten progressively worse. It has now been diagnosed as rectal stricture. The doctor says there isn’t anything they can do for him. There is a thing they can do with a balloon but she says it is temporary fix, buys him a few months and can cause other problems. Is there anyone out there in dachshund land that has gone through something like this. I don’t want to have to put him down but also don’t want to see him in pain and straining to go to the bathroom. Please RSVP as quickly as possible. Thank you.

Answer

I don’t know if this will help or not, but it helped my Cavachon. He had diarhea AND constipation. The vet even x rayed his stomach(for free) to see if that was the problem. Finally, he suggested Pro biotics. That did it. The brand he sells and that we now use is: Vetri Science GI Balance Pro. It is a little pricey, but it works great AND my puppy LOVES it. It solved the problem!
